               So everyday I would try to put things here which I am thankful for.   This is also my way of showing my appreciation to the man above.   For the non-believers, consider this as a means to see the beauty of simple or even big things around us.

20.   Being safe. The heartbreaking news of the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan came as a shock to everybody.  
      
         The aftermath of said disaster was so devastating that one can't help but think that we are  more than lucky not to be in that place in that particular time.   You would suddenly realize that whatever problems you might have at the moment are  so trivial compared to those victims in Japan who may have lost their livelihoods, shelters and even sadly for some their own lives or that of a loved one.




21. Massages!  A friend treated me to a full hour massage in Tan Ton.  It was so-so but it's still massage so I don't have the right to complain since  as I've said it was for free.  


     Afterwards, we went to another friend's condo to watch a Thai feel-good movie.  Bonding moments with friends are always special!

26.  Holidays! Today is Araw ng Dabaw and it means no work and school...for some.  I had a battle with MCQ this morning and I have yet to know the results at the end of the month.  Crossing my fingers that it I won in such battle.   Despite the same it was still a good day.  Notwithstanding the fact that I was only able to go home at almost 2AM, slept at almost 3AM and had to wake up before 8AM.herk..herk...




27.  Yoghurts!


      I love this coagulated dairy product!  It was my first time to try the  Tutti Frutti's version at Gmall Davao.   

        This is my least favorite of all the malls in the city but since Dude hailed a wrong jeepney, we had no choice but go to the nearest mall near AdDU to have our lunch.   Then, we decided to have yoghurt afor dessert.   The one on the white container is mine.   Overloaded with almond slices.hehehe.  Tip: Try their strawberry yoghurt and also the chocolate one.   





28.   Carnivals!  

           Finally, somebody was silly enough to fall into my sometimes-out-of-this-world and outlandish propensities.   We went to one near the NCCC mall in Ma-a, Davao City.  

       Are you the daredevil?   Ride their roller coaster!   It takes guts to take this particular ride.  The scare is not brought about by the height nor by the loops but  because of the fact that the parts are so ancient that  while riding the same you will have this thought  running over and over inside your head- "Shoot, will these old parts ever hold?"  We survived the ride with bruises and bumps afterwards and I mean that literally!  

      We haven't had enough though.  We then proceeded to the bump cars station and drove like wackos to our hearts' delight.   


      Ah, don't you just love the simple thrills in life?

30.  Receiving good news! The 2010 Bar Examination results came out today.  I was elated when the three persons that I wanted to pass made it and one of them even landed as rank 4! So inspiring!

31. Receiving an apology from someone who have hurt you. 



          It takes courage for a person to swallow his pride,recognize his mistakes, admit the same and eventually ask for forgiveness.   


           It may not be easy to forget all the pain caused by someone whom you have trusted once ,but if you can see the effort knowing that such person is not the type who would own up to his wrongdoings, then one might consider to soften his/her heart too.   In due time...all wounds are bound to heal.

32.  Finally finding out the truth about something which have greatly affected your life.


         Was there ever a point in your life that you felt  so sure and knew about something but the person/s involved tried to denied the same over and over again?   And that person is someone whom you consider as one of the most important persons in your life .   You then find out he/she was lying to you the entire time? 



       Have you ever been betrayed? That is one of the worst things that can happen to a person.   If you are weak, it will really shatter you.    




       The man above really does love me because He has broken the bondage of lies concocted by someone whom I once trusted.    It's just so sad that some people have to resort to lies for their own protection.   Selfish people are unhappy people and it's so unfortunate that my own weakness of having a savior complex was used against me.




        However, finding out the truth is absolutely better than being shitted on repeatedly.  It may hurt  initially but as the adage goes "What does not kill you will only make you stronger". 




      It may have been delayed but I am still thankful because now I can finally say Veritas Vos Liberabit!

34.  Finishing a book and feeling good after. 
  


       I always have mixed feelings everytime I'm  almost near the end of a book I'm reading.   I get excited wondering if the ending will be the same as the one I've formulated in my mind yet I also feel sad  because it means my "current adventure" is over.


       However, there are certain books that I did not get to finish reading because I got bored.  That no matter how I want to finish reading it, I just end up getting a headache instead.   


         Everyone who loves to read could relate to this.  Hence, we should be thankful for good reads.   We should be thankful for authors and writers who "bleed their brains out" trying to make as a part of their own adventures.Salute to you all!



35.   Responsible and good-hearted nephews.


        I am thankful because we may not be blessed with plenty of moolah but we are surrounded by love...the authentic ones.  Everytime I feel down, there are these two angels who give me pure happiness.

36.   People who are willing to lend a hand to those in need.




         Okay, so we are out of house-help once again. Hence, I'm in-charged of taking care of the bugoys during the day.  However, I also have some things I need to attend to, which means nobody will be watching over the kids during those times.  Good thing that my brother and sister-in-law's close friend is willing to stay with the kids even for just a few hours.  




37.   Friends who are willing to lend an ear.


        Not once have I mentioned that if there is one thing I am really blessed with, it is that I am gifted with good friends.




        Everyone at one point in their lives has  committed a mistake, myself included.  Admittedly, my stubborness has led me to more than one wrong decision.  


          I used to keep everything to myself.    However, I came to realize that there are certain things which  cannot be kept and which can be made easier with the help of friends.   

              Despite my mistakes, these friends  have never left me.   Their love and understanding never wavered.   They have proven that they are there through thick and thin.   


            In my several years of existence, I have also learned that  there are also some  people who pretend to be your friend but who'll just leave you when you're down.  Worst, these people expect you to be there for them at their beck and calling.    So sad that they  want you to be there for them, use you, sometimes lie to you when in truth and in fact, these people do not even know the meaning of the word friendship in the first place.  



         If you have someone like the latter in your life, do not allow yourself to be abused.   Be thankful when you see their true colors.   If they do not see your worth and they do not value you, then do not regret if they'll leave you.   Remember, that it is never your lost.

38.   Feeling better.....physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.    

        For several days now, I've been bothered  by certain things which made me question life in general (again). 

           My state of mind was so far from being okay that it even affected my health.   However, it hasn't been a week yet, but I know and I  can finally declare that I've never been better.


           My faith became stronger.   This is one of those days that the man above has made me feel that He loves me so much.  He gave me the freedom that I've been seeking for more than a decade.   

            It is really true, His plans may be different from ours but we must always believe that His ways are the best.  All that is required is for us to recognize and acknowledge that there is a supreme being higher than us who is the architect of everything ....even those which we may not be able to grasp and understand at the moment...or ever.

39.   The Rain.


        I've always had a love-hate relationship with the rain.  

        I love it because it's so conducive for sleeping which is good when you have nothing else to do but is also disadvantageous when you are in a rush.  I also dislike the part where your shoes and feet get wet.


        The rain had been a witness to so many things that have had occurred in my life.   Coincidental it may seem, but it usually rains when I'm gloomy and down.  It is as if the heaven does the crying for me.  I get consoled by the idea that I am made to feel that I am not alone during these times of trials.

        As I've said, "alone time" is getting more often than usual.   Sometimes it's such a hassle to cook if you know you're just going to eat solo.   I'm so glad that when I opened the fridge, I found some leftover foods brought by my bro last night.

        I've always been a victim of this.   More than one househelp have done this to me...to us.   Are we too trusting that we tend to get abused or is temptation too much for them that they cannot help themselves and they take things which are not theirs in the first place?


            It is not the item/s taken and losing such which makes me mad, it is the fact that one has committed an act of betrayal.   Material things can be bought again, but trust once broken can never be regained.


              I do wish that we can find somebody who would learn to love her job and not do this to us.    There had been loyal ones and they know that they are no different from us.   We treat them like family.   I just really hope that the next person we let in our home would be the right one.   I really pray for this.

           It is during family occasions that we are able get together for long periods of hours.  It was a good thing that they went to the house today and played with the kids.   It was a fun day!  Next time, bonding with the girl cousins!

54.   I am able to eat regularly. I was able to go to school without having to worry too much as to where I'll get the funds to pay for my tuition fees. 

  I failed to realize before that some people had to resort to borrowing money just to be able to take the examinations.   Some even had to let go of having their parents attend their graduation because it would just be an added expense for them.   Lord, thank you for showing me how fortunate I am.   I may not be rich financially but I am still very,very blessed.  I cannot thank you enough.

55.  Having the opportunity to travel and be exposed to new things. 


       This has been a two-year long overdue trip.   Something was really pushing me to go to this time, by hook or by crook.   Several things came up which could have stopped me from pushing through with it by I disregarded all of it, I really needed this.   I'm so glad I did.  It was a time for reflection and knowing one's self which fortunately I did achieve.   I can say nothing more but thank you J.

56.  Seeing and taking part in different kinds of prayers.   


           Praying is very special to me.   It is the time wherein I could freely speak my heart without any hesitations.   Having the chance to do it through chanting and silence was such a precious gift.   And yes, silence in every aspect of the word was so uplifting to the soul, my soul.




57.    Realizing my worth, releasing from my system what has been troubling me for the past 10 years and becoming aware that forgiveness is possible and is a choice.


        I am an extreme person.   When I love, I give my all. When I get hurt, I pain deeply.   I have been betrayed and I thought I could never forgive, but the man above never gave up on me.    He made me realize that grudges would only bring me down.   Hence, I've made the decision that I would learn to forgive and pray for whoever who have wronged me.    I am in the process of healing and I could only attain inner peace when I learn to let go.   Now, I know that the same is possible.   With God's grace that would happen.  I just need to have faith.

58.   ZIP LINES!!!




       I love the feeling of being up in the air.   I love mountains and other high places.   The invention of zip lines made my dream of "flying" possible.


       Others fear it, I love it! On this day I was able to do it on Zip Zone at  Dahilayan, Bukidnon, the longest one in the Philippines or Asia (?) so far.   This is the 3rd place that I've been able to do zip line.   The first one was in Kapatagan in Davao Del Sur and the 2nd one in Bohol.   I still consider the one in Kapatagan as the best primarily because of the view and the services therein.

       We went back to the Monastery of the Transfiguration to attend the mass and then take part of the brunch with the Monks.   


               The food was great and we were able to converse and have our photos taken with some of the monks there.   It was really a very wonderful experience.

        When I was in elementary, this was sold at P1.00 I think. My kuyas told me that it was sold at 25 cents during their time.   Dudol is Maguindanaon food that tastes and looks like kalamayhati but honestly I really think it tastes waaaay better!   
 
           During our younger years, the vendor scoops out a cup from her pail (yep, you've read that right) and puts it at a banana leaf.   Now, my mom was able to order it at a cooperative at Cotabato City and it looks like this:

Dudol (that's my nephew's hand right there!). This just came from the fridge hence the consistency but it's a lot stickier when hot!

        Let me justify that...hehe.  Since I just stayed at home the entire day, I only took a bath later in the afternoon.  I still did, okay?  Man, I won't last a day without taking a shower!
